light motiv is an independent dream-pop/indie rock project founded by Sarp Öztürk in Izmir in mid-2019. All the production, recording and mixing is done by Sarp, and when playing live, Sarp is accompanied by Durukan Betses on drums, Mert Sarıkaya on second guitar and keyboard, and İlker Özalp on bass guitar. light motiv released it’s first EP "Fluid" independently, later released their single called "2019" with Domuz Records, their second EP called "DIORAMAS" with TAMAR RECORDS, and in the first months of 2024, they will be releasing their third EP, featuring Turkish lyrics for the first time, "KOY" (meaning COVE). Offering a wide range of alternative sounding soft and slow guitars to heavily shoegaze inspired high moments in their live performances, the band continues to experiment and discover new sounds.
